Position: Internal Auditor - Kisumu

Company profile: Our client is one of the leading healthcare institutions in the country.

Location: Kisumu

Main Purpose of the Job: Responsible for the timely execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, as well as assisting with other matters and projects

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of internal audit plans
  • Conduct risk assessment of assigned department or functional area in established/required timelines
  • Plan and conduct audits to ensure compliance with the company policies and standards    
  • Assist in ensuring efficient use of institution’s resources.  
  • Determine scope of review in conjunction with the Board Audit Committee.
  • Review the suitability of internal control design and recommend areas for improvement
  • Develop and ensure implementation of internal checks and controls. 
  • Carry out audit assignments as required by the Audit Committee.  
  • Communicate findings and share audit report with  senior leadership

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) or equivalent from a recognized University plus
  • CPA (K).
  • CISA qualification will be an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Internal or External Audit
  • ICPAK membership

USAID Transition Initiatives for Stabilization (TIS) program

The Transition Initiatives for Stabilization (TIS) program is funded by USAID and responds to the complex crisis that has evolved in Somalia and the self-declared Republic of Somaliland.

The overall program goal is to mitigate conflict; to promote stability and community cohesion, and to strengthen citizens’ relationships with government officials.

TIS implements quick impact activities linked to longer-term stabilization goals.

The TIS program is currently seeking a skilled, diplomatic, effective, and highly motivated Accountant.

As our Accountant, you will manage all transactions related to the DAI TIS project.

You will ensure that the outlined financial policies and procedures are implemented and followed in the assigned area.

The Accountant is responsible for providing complete and accurate field reports to the Home Office for all field offices financial activities.

You will provide support in other finance areas as necessary and maintain a positive working relationship with the DAI Home Office staff.

Qualifications and skills sought
  • University degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Financial Management or other appropriate field.
  • CPA qualification required.
  • Four years’ experience in financial accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Experience working using Oracle as a financial management system preferred.
  • Previous auditing experience highly sought.
  • Previous experience working in Somalia or on Somalia programs highly sought.
  • Knowledge of Somali and Kenyan tax laws.
  • USAID experience a plus. In addition, must be flexible, willing to perform assigned and additional duties and work irregular hours under unpredictable conditions.
  • Demonstrated expertise working on a Somalia program preferred.
  • Ability to audit financial documentation.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports.
  • Knowledge of accounting software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to manage a diverse range of professional relationships essential.
  • Ability to travel to Somalia.

Their job is to run the company front office and receive sales data to input on Excel to form reports

Main Responsibilities

Reception
  • Organizing and running a reception/ front desk
  • Managing the reception desk and other support duties
  • Answering the Switchboard and transferring of calls to extensions
  • Answering client inquiries about the company and its products and service
  • Receiving and directing clients
  • Receiving and recording incoming mail
  • Recording and dispatching outgoing mail

Data Entry
  • Collect and input sales related data on Excel spreadsheets on a daily basis
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly excel reports on sales
  • Collect sales details from the different sales teams in the field
  • Send reports to supervisors
  • Present data in an easy to understand manner for management

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Diploma in Business/ Front office/ Administration or related courses
  • Minimum of 2 years experience running a front office
  • At least 1 year handling data entry in a company on Excel
